Vertical Aviation International (VAI) is excited to unveil the winners of the 2026 POWER UP Magazine Photo Contest. The winning photos, including the Grand Prize winner and six category winners, include entries from Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States. I am truly honored to be a prize winner for the second year in a row in Vertical Magazine — the world’s largest helicopter magazine, dedicated to spectacular aviation photography and reporting from the field.
The winning photo was taken at the Sanicole Sunset Airshow in Belgium, capturing the Polish Bölkow Bo-105helicopter flown by veteran pilot Maciej Dominiak.
Once a German Army attack helicopter, now reborn as a thrilling airshow performer, the Bo-105 shows remarkable agility and precision — lighting up the evening sky with fireworks in a fusion of engineering mastery, pilot skill, and pure visual drama.
